Two companies want to turn your golf clubs into the world’s smartest golf clubs. In a press conference at the 63rd PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, the world leader in shot-tracking technology announced that it has teamed up with the #1 Grip in Golf to make it easier for golfers to know more about their games.

Coming soon, GAME GOLF’s high-powered shot-tracking technology will be embedded in Golf Pride’s #1 performance grip model on Tour, the Tour Velvet, to produce the world’s first, all-in-one, tech-enabled system for tracking golf shot performance on the course.

New GOLF PRIDE TECH ENABLED GRIPS delivering integrated GAME GOLF technology will be available in spring during the heart of the golf season in North America. The new grips have GAME GOLF GPS Sensor Tags seamlessly integrated into each grip so that there is no impact on club weight or swing comfort.

Golfers pull the clubs from their bags, touch the grip to their GAME GOLF device or Android phone, and hit their shots. GAME GOLF captures robust data on each shot that is visible on the GAME GOLF app, on any iOS or Android phone or watch,* or on the golfer’s computer after the round.

Exclusive to GOLF PRIDE TECH ENABLED GRIPS, the Game Golf system also notifies the golfer when it’s time to re-grip their clubs based on number of rounds played and the actual wear-and-tear. Some clubs get more use than others and the system will help you monitor the life left in each grip individually.

“In a short 18 months, we have become the only company that puts the power of golf data onto every mobile device, and soon, most integrated fitness watch platforms in the world, to make tracking your game as unobtrusive and easy as possible,” said John McGuire, CEO of GAME GOLF. “This new venture with Golf Pride takes our technology one step farther with seamless club integration, so golfers can swing and see how to improve their games in real time.”

“It is still early days, but there are exciting possibilities for this new sensor technology to enhance the golf experience. We believe that Golf Pride grips are a great delivery vehicle for this new technology and we are excited about this new partnership with Game Golf,” said James Ledford, president of Golf Pride. “Game Golf has been an early leader in this space and Golf Pride has been fortunate to be the grip of choice for 80% of Tour pros and many more amateur golfers, so we think this partnership has a lot of possibilities and we are excited about this first generation Smart Grip.

The new grips have a sleek black and white high-tech design with a flash of GAME GOLF’s signature red, and features Golf Pride’s state-of-the-art rubber-blend compound with a non-slip surface pattern for maximum playability, comfort, and confidence.

The GAME GOLF tags easily embed into the cavity in the end cap of each grip without protruding, sitting flush at the top. New GOLF PRIDE TECH ENABLED GRIPS will automatically notify the user when it’s time to re-grip, making it easier to play better and more comfortably on the course.

Details on distribution and pricing of GOLF PRIDE TECH ENABLED GRIPS powered by Game Golf will be unveiled later this spring.

GAME GOLF is currently sold globally in golf specialty shops and more than 800 green grass pro shops; on #AmazonLaunchpad; and in Apple Stores (Europe). Integration with Apple Watch is available with Pebble and Android Watches coming soon. For more information or to view videos of GAME GOLF in action, visit www.gamegolf.com

Today, Golf Pride has laid claim to more major wins than any other grip company. More than 80% of Tour professionals choose to play Golf Pride grips and not one is paid to do so. And in this age of multi-million dollar endorsement deals, that’s the strongest endorsement of all.
