PING announce that nFlight Motion is now available for clubfitters in Europe as an easy-to-use, highly-accurate fitting tool which recommends PING driver-fitting specifications for golfers after only three shots.
“With nFlight Motion, fitters can perform a precise PING fitting in a timely manner using a few key swing variables that make the process easy and extremely reliable,” said John A. Solheim, PING Chairman & CEO. “It’s simple to set up and operate. In only a few minutes, fitters can recommend the best loft and shaft for various PING driver models. It gives fitters one more innovative tool for growing their business and helping golfers play better and enjoy the game more.”
Using proprietary PING software in conjunction with a SkyPro Golf Swing Analyzer, nFlight Motion graphically depicts fitting recommendations on an iPhone or iPod touch. The SkyPro device attaches to the shaft directly below the grip and records a range of swing variables, including clubhead speed, transition, and shaft lean at impact, which are analysed through the nFlight Motion software to make loft, shaft flex and shaft model recommendations. After an initial recommendation for loft and shaft, fitters can use PING’s Shaft Visualisation Chart to consider additional shafts from PING and other manufacturers.
“SkyPro’s swing analyser is a highly-accurate device that allows us to bring our nFlight software into a wireless fitting environment. It is easy-to-use and produces the reliable data needed to make precise custom fitting recommendations in a short amount of time,” said Dr. Paul Wood, PING’s Director of Engineering. “This first-of-its-kind fitting software, created by PING engineers and software developers, gives us one more way to ensure that golfers receive the most accurate fittings in golf.
nFlight Motion is being praised by club fitters for its role in fitting golfers into a PING driver, including the new G30, that leads to more distance and consistency.
“The accuracy of the fittings with nFlight Motion is amazing,” said Darren McKinnon, Director of Clubfitting at Pine Oaks GC in South Easton, Massachusetts, a Golf Digest Top 100 Fitter. “We use it as a starting point for a driver fitting and it consistently supports the final specifications determined at the end of the fitting session.”
Facilities committed to fitting that may not have the means to invest in more extensive fitting technologies are among the early adopters of nFlight Motion. In addition to the ease of use and reliable results, the SkyPro device is a visible technology that gets golfer’s attention.
“SkyPro’s 3D inertial motion sensors capture up to a hundred thousand data points from address to impact during the swing automatically, which makes it a great fit for PING’s revolutionary nFlight Motion club fitting solution. SkyPro’s versatility makes that same accuracy available to consumers who want to improve their game with the most advanced 3D swing analyzer in golf,” said Richard Edmonson, CEO of SkyGolf, the maker of the SkyPro. “We are pleased that PING recognised the accuracy, reliability and ease-of-use of SkyPro by selecting it to drive nFlight Motion
“It’s a powerful tool that makes perfect business sense,” said Bill Abrams of Golf Solutions Academy based out of Balmoral Woods in Crete, IL and Carolina Club in Margate, FL. “Our facilities can’t support a large investment in fitting technology but our customers want the opportunity to be properly fit. When I take it on the range and clip the SkyPro device to a driver, it draws a crowd.
nFlight Motion utilises the company’s nFlight app, which can be downloaded from the App Store. To operate, it requires an iPhone 4 (or newer), or an iPod touch 5th generation (or newer) running Apple iOS 7 (or newer.)
