skytrak_hero_combined_emailThe new SkyTrak™ Personal Golf Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator is a joint venture between SkyCaddie parent company SkyGolf, and digital technology company SportTrak.

It launches in the UK this autumn at £1,695 RRP, and arrives in mid-November 2015. Pre-orders are being taken now.

The SkyTrak (www.skytrakgolf.com) combines the accuracy of a professional-grade golf launch monitor, suitable for golf equipment custom-fitting, with the high definition visuals of top-end golf simulator software.

The incredible price point makes this technology realistically available to consumers, golf clubs and professionals for the first time.

SkyTrak was unveiled to industry acclaim at the January 2015 PGA Merchandising Show in Orlando., where reviewers quickly spotted that golfers, golf clubs and golf professionals can use SkyTrak as a complete Practice, Play and Entertainment System for golf, both at home and at the golf club.

SkyTrak uses photometric technology to measure actual ball speed, launch angle, back spin, side spin and side angle immediately after impact. It also displays carry distance, offline distance and total distance to simulate practice and play as if you were on the course or practice tee.

A wide variety of Setup options enable you to configure SkyTrak to display the post-shot information you want, with several alternative views available in Driving Range mode.

While creating a highly entertaining golf experience, SkyTrak is a serious tool which accurately reflects the golfer’s actual skill level and shot results to provide year-round practice, play and game improvement without needing to leaving home.

SkyTrak shows you real results, from your real golf game. This includes the golf ball. Crucially, golfers can use their own favourite brand of golf ball, as most users will be hitting into a practice net. This gives you data for actual competitive play, which you can use to improve your game when out on the course.

SkyTrak provides the accurate measurements of a professional-grade golf launch monitor, at a fraction of the cost. It opens up an entirely new world of solo or multi-player game-improving practice and hours and hours of entertainment at and away from the golf club or driving range.

SkyTrak creates its own Wi-Fi hotspot to put shot results on your screen within seconds. It accurately projects ball flight over a vivid 3D practice range and virtual golf courses, subject to which software you have chosen.

It offers various game-improvement challenges and mini-games for engaging practice such as Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive and Targets, along with Shot History Tables, Performance by Club, and other helpful data screens.

SkyTrak’s powerful engine provides entertaining challenges and competitions between family and friends, while delivering the same results as if you were on a real golf course.

SkyTrak ships with the basic version of the SkyTrak App, which displays a Driving Range and basic Shot Data on your iPad. A list of compatible iOS products is displayed on www.skytrakgolf.com.

Most customers choose to upgrade to the SkyTrak Premium (Game Improvement) Subscription at a £79 annual fee. This unlocks all of the SkyTrak’s launch monitor capabilities, with extensive data tables enabling deep analysis of a customer’s golf swing for custom-fittings.

The SkyTrak Premium option also unlocks the fun side of SkyTrak – giving full access to all of its in-built challenges and mini-games.

SkyTrak Premium also contains a spectacular 9-Shot Closest To The Hole Challenge, played over 9 different holes of the Kiawah Island Ocean Course. This sets the golfer a variety of challenges to test most types of approach shot, including Par Three tee shots, fairway approaches and greenside bunker shots, and is expected to be a highly popular taster for full-length golf course play on SkyTrak.

This very special Challenge within SkyTrak Premium is provided as a result of SkyTrak’s proud partnership with World Golf Tour (WGT Golf), the #1 online golf game worldwide. In addition to the included 9-Shot Closest To The Hole Challenge at Kiawah Island from WGT Golf, golfers can also pay a further annual subscription to play a different 9-Shot Closest To The Hole Challenge at each of WGT Golf’s 20 high-definition golf courses, including St Andrews, Pebble Beach, Bandon Dunes, Celtic Manor, Pinehurst No.2, Royal St George’s and Chambers Bay.

And golfers will not have to wait long before full-course play is available, tee to green, on all 18 holes of each of the WGT Golf courses, again for an annual subscription.

A PC version of the SkyTrak App will be available in autumn 2015. Integration is underway with several software suppliers to enable SkyTrak users to play a huge variety of virtual golf courses on their desktop computer or laptop. These include suppliers such as TruGolf, who make the popular E6 Golf simulator software, and The Golf Club Game, which features thousands of virtual golf courses designed by online users worldwide.

SkyTrak users can access a wide and fast-growing range of golf courses to play when they use it as a golf simulator. A menu in the SkyTrak App enables golfers to choose which golf course software they want to play through their SkyTrak, by paying annual subscriptions which differ according to the supplier.

“SkyTrak delivers commercial-quality ball flight simulations which reflect a golfer’s actual performance for game improvement and entertainment at a price far below comparable alternatives,” said Jacqui Surman, Senior Vice-President International Sales & Marketing at SkyCaddie. “This enables golf professionals to use it in custom-fitting situations, and it also provides an accurate and realistic in-home golf experience that both entertains and makes you a better golfer.

“The addition of WGT Golf and other software suppliers to SkyTrak allows us to add more ways for golfers to practice, play and be entertained on some of the world’s most famous golf courses.”

“With SkyTrak, golf clubs can now install a reference-quality golf simulator in their clubhouse, and can invite golfers to play on rainy days or after dark” said Surman. “The potential to build social events around SkyTrak is a significant factor in its growing success.

“SkyTrak will also be popular with golf professionals who are looking to introduce accurate launch monitor technology to their golf lessons and custom fitting sessions.

“But most of all, SkyTrak is for the golfer. SkyTrak opens up, at a new affordable low price point, the spectacle of playing in a high-end high-definition golf simulator at your own home – and it is portable enough to carry around to a friend’s house when a group of people want to play virtual golf together”.

Pre-orders for SkyTrak in the UK should be placed now, to avoid disappointment when the product begins shipping to golf stores in November 2015.
