Abacus Sportswear appoints new CFO to support company growth

Abacus Sportswear, the Official Apparel Supplier of The 2015 European Solheim Cup Team and Licensee to The 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles, has appointed Anu Uus as its new Chief Financial Officer.
Ms Uus brings with her over 15 years’ experience gained in various senior management roles, including Vice President of Sales at SERC (Systems Engineering Research Corporation), based in Silicon Valley, U.S, and Chief Financial Officer at Sundquist Components AB, one of Sweden’s leading manufacturers of polymer materials, now part of Axel Johnson Group, one of the largest trade and service companies in the Nordic region. In addition, Ms Uus is the Co-Founder and Financial Controller of GoalArt AB, a Swedish alarm management and fault diagnosis software company.
“Ms Uus’ appointment is one of a number of fundamental steps we are looking to take to strengthen the company’s main structure and build for the future growth,” commented Sven-Olof Karlsson, CEO and owner of Abacus Sportswear.
Despite the recession, the Swedish technical clothing brand has continued to prosper, achieving a steady growth of its global market share in recent years and a strengthening of its brand on the international golf arena.
Following a strong start to 2014, Abacus Sportswear anticipates promising pre-season sales for its new Spring-Summer 2015 collection, which it believes will help maintain this upward trend.
“Such promising landmarks have given us the confidence to tackle new markets and bolster our presence in existing ones,” continued Sven-Olof Karlsson. “With Ms Uus joining the abacus team, we trust it will not only help further our expansion and enable us to identify new sales opportunities, but also grow the company over the next 5 years, especially in Europe.”
