Booth Becomes General Manager at Abu Dhabi Golf Club

Home to the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, Abu Dhabi Golf Club has announced the strategic promotion of Director of Club Operations Paul Booth to the position of General Manager with immediate effect.

In recognition of his dedication to deliver exceptional golf experiences in the Middle East, as well as the creation of outstanding events for members and guests to enjoy, the new opportunity will see the long-standing Troon Golf loyalist working closely with the ownership group to implement key strategies in the advancement of Troon Golf’s exacting standards for service, hospitality and golf course conditioning.

Booth, a member of the PGA, has worked at each level of the golf business, giving him a well-rounded approach collected over 20 years to golf club management. After successful tenures as a Coaching Professional in the UK, Booth moved to the Middle East in 2001 to develop his management experience of premium golf venues before joining the Troon Golf family in 2007 as Head Professional of Abu Dhabi Golf Club. Following three successful years, Booth joined sister venue Saadiyat Beach Golf Club as a key member of its pre-opening team. Booth oversaw the collective as Director of Golf through its impressive launch period and established Saadiyat Beach Golf Club as the diverse, contemporary club it is today, being appointed Director of Club Operations in July 2011.

Pivotal to its success, Booth created a team to provide an ideal atmosphere for members and guests to enjoy their social and leisure time, utilising the golf course and food and beverage event promotions. He has focused his attention on imparting the same expert knowledge at Abu Dhabi Golf Club, since Troon Golf’s strategic repositioning of Booth earlier this year as Director of Club Operations.

The announcement marks the third celebration this year for Booth, as he was also named by Troon as their “Ambassador of the Year” at the annual Troon Leadership Conference. Outshining representatives from the 10,000-strong associate pool, the esteemed accolade was presented to Booth by his peers, in recognition of his consistent dedication to golf club management, the campaigning of Troon Golf brand values, as well as developing the leaders of tomorrow through the nurturing of his fellow associates.

Firmly established as one of the European Tour’s most high-profile tournament venues following the 10th anniversary hosting of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, Abu Dhabi Golf Club is steadfast in its approach of offering five-star golf experiences in keeping with its management company’s key values. Cementing its reputation as a must-visit venue for local and international golfers year-on-year, Booth will now direct the team to create an enviable experience to surpass expectations in the Middle East.
