The man who spent more than 20 years masterminding sales and business development for industry giant Toro is the latest recruit to the expanding Golf Consultants Association (GCA).
Bob Buckingham worked for the Minnesota-based turf-equipment company between 1987 and 2009, before starting his own consultancy business – Consult BB – which has included a spell as consulting chief executive officer for grinder specialist Bernhard and Company.
An experienced business development professional, the creative yet pragmatic Buckingham – who also worked for Ransomes, Sims & Jefferies for nine years – brings with him an enviable CV and exceptional leadership and motivational skills which have already brought an impressive customer list to Consult BB. Buckingham said: “I am very pleased and honoured to be a part of this rather auspicious group and hope to bring something new or fresh to the group from possibly a very different part and or perspective of the industry.”
Welcoming Buckingham to the association, GCA chairman Howard Swan said: “I have known Bob for many years and he is a well-known and well-respected figure within the golf industry. We’re delighted he has chosen to join the Golf Consultants Association. When we’re attracting this calibre of individual it is testament to reputation of the association and its members and also to the wide spectrum of services we are now able to offer the golf industry.”
