Headland Amenity have further strengthened their sales team in the South West region. Richard Shapland has joined the company as Technical Sales Manager for the areas of Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset and will be delivering Headland’s customer-focussed, practical approach to turf management.

Richard has been in the golf industry for 38 years – starting as a hands-on Greenkeeper with the likes of Truro Golf Club and St Mellion in Cornwall before moving into sales. He is proficient in dealing with Headland products from his role as a Regional Technical Sales Manager with a key Headland distributor since 2007. This wealth of knowledge and industry experience comes along with a wide range of professional qualifications.

“I always considered Headland to be one of the leading suppliers of turf nutrition products,” he says. “So it goes without saying I am delighted to be joining them.”  It’s really change but no change for Richard as he will be spending his days with many of his old customers as well as seeking out new ones.  “Whilst I enjoy visiting some beautiful venues and seeing the countryside of the UK, there’s no better feeling than helping people achieve the best possible results.”

In his spare time Richard enjoys watching football, travelling, the odd DIY project and playing golf (badly!). He also enjoys gardening although he shamefully admits he doesn’t have a single blade of grass anywhere in his garden!
