St Andrews Links, the Home of Golf, has confirmed one of the world’s leading photographers, Kevin Murray, as the first-ever official photographer of the Links.
Mr Murray, who has photographed many of the world’s leading golf courses and had his work featured regularly in golf publications across the globe, will be responsible for compiling and collating all official photography at St Andrews Links.
His work will be showcased at Links facilities as well as being utilised on the Links website, app and in-store at the Home of Golf.
Danny Campbell, Commercial Director at St Andrews Links, said: “We have worked with Kevin on a number of projects and have always been delighted with his ability to capture not just the natural beauty of the golf courses here but also the essence of the place.
“We feel it’s the right time for the Links to have a relationship of this nature and we could not ask for a more talented photographer than Kevin, who appreciates and understands the values we hold so dear here in St Andrews, to be official photographer at the Home of Golf.”
Kevin, whose work is fine art based, has made a major impact on golf course photography with his commitment to capturing the real beauty of the world’s golf course, not least the courses in St Andrews.
He said: “I have been fortunate to visit and work in St Andrews on many occasions. There is no better place to come and photograph so when the opportunity arose to become the first-ever photographer to have this kind of relationship with St Andrews Links I jumped at the chance.
“I look forward to trying to capture the real essence of the golf courses, the people and the unique and special place it has in the hearts of so many the world over. It’s a real honour today to have been given this title and I am thrilled to be its first recipient.”
Kevin, who won the Lawrence Levy award for outstanding golf photography in 2012, will work on a variety of projects with St Andrews Links, capturing the very best images of the golf courses, facilities and events at the Home of Golf.
