Marriott Golf, one of the world’s premier golf operators, has announced that Filippa McDougall has been named Director of Golf at JW Marriott Camelback Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. In her new role, McDougall will be responsible for overseeing all golf operations for the 36-hole facility including membership, retail merchandising, outings & tournaments, and overall golf shop operations.

A PGA Class A Member since 2009, McDougall has been an invaluable member of the Marriott Golf family since 2007. Prior to being named Director of Golf, she previously served as the Assistant Golf Professional, Golf Shop Supervisor and most recently the Head Golf Professional at JW Marriott Camelback Golf Club.

“While Filippa is an accomplished player and teacher, her business acumen, customer service skills and overall management expertise makes her an ideal fit to serve as the Director of Golf at one of Marriott Golf’s flagship resort facilities,” said Jim Keane, Senior Director, Operations & Development, Marriott Golf.

A graduate of Duke University where she was a member of the NCAA women’s intercollegiate golf team, McDougall is an accomplished player. Following graduation, she competed on professional tours for 7 years, before turning her attention to becoming a PGA Professional.

JW Marriott Camelback Golf Club is the original property in the Marriott Golf portfolio featuring 36-Holes of Championship Golf, highlighted by the widely acclaimed Ambiente Golf Course, which debuted 3 years ago. The new course served as the culmination of a renewal project at JW Marriott Camelback Inn, designed to blend reverence for the past with relevance for the future, as the historic property, set on its Sonoran Desert surroundings in Paradise Valley, strikes the perfect balance between showcasing the best of the resort’s storied past, while setting a visionary course for the future. Ambiente, Spanish for the word “environment,” was designed with a detailed eco-friendly focus and serves as a complement to the popular Padre golf course, making JW Marriott Camelback Golf Club a one-of-a-kind 36-hole Southwest golf destination for both leisure and group golfers.

Marriott Golf manages 50 golf courses at 37 locations in 11 countries, offering nearly 1,000 holes of championship golf for seven Marriott International lodging brands. Marriott has been managing golf operations since 1970 and is one of the world’s premier golf operators. Marriott provides golf management and consulting services to a variety of operational environments including resort, private club, daily fee, golf school and franchises.
