Turnberry, a Luxury Collection Resort in Ayrshire, has appointed Angus Watson as an account manager in the leisure sales team.
Previously a leisure sales manager at Fairmont St Andrews, Angus has moved from the east coast of Scotland to the west coast where he is now responsible for leisure sales at the award-winning Turnberry Resort. In his new role, Angus will manage key leisure accounts, including golf tour operators and individual golf travellers through third parties.
Angus began his career with Macdonald Hotels and Resorts in 2005 where he worked across a variety of disciplines within the Rusacks hotel in St Andrews, including golf concierge. In 2009, he moved to the Fairmont St Andrews transitioning into a sales position with a golf focus which allowed him to further develop his expertise and relationships within the luxury golf travel market.
A previous Golf Tourism Scotland ‘Young Industry Person of the Year’, Angus starts ahead of a busy golf season at Turnberry and will report to Stephen Walker, Director of Sales and Marketing, in his new role.
