After election as new EIGCA President last month, Rainer Priessman has even more cause to celebrate. His company’s work at Toscana Resort Castelfalfi in Italy was recognized as a finalist in the Golf Course Renovation of the Year competition run by Golf Inc.

Toscana took third place in the Private Clubs – Over $1 million category. The project was ranked in the top five of all entrants and was the second highest rated project outside of the U.S.

Another EIGCA member, Dr. Wilfried Moroder, also worked with Rainer Priessman at Toscana Resort where the main contractor was Golf- und Sportplatzbau Brehmer GmbH.

The University of Maryland Golf Course was the overall winner.

“This was one of the finest pools of entrants since the competition started in 2004,” said Jack Crittenden, Editor In Chief of Golf Inc. magazine. “All of the honorees were rated by the judges as outstanding quality.”

Judges were Dr. Michael Hurdzan with Hurdzan-Fry Environmental Golf Design, Oscar Rodriguez, Vice President Construction Manager with The Weitz Company, and Jim Bellington, Senior Vice President of Development Services with Troon Golf.

The winning projects are featured in the Summer issue of Golf Inc.
