PGA of Europe Congress attended by 33 countries

Officials from 33 countries attended the PGA of Europe’s Annual Congress, at Atalaya Park Hotel, Costa del Sol, and were joined for a day by representatives of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA) to exchange views in debate on “Tradition versus Technology – On Course for Collision?”
Frank Thomas, USGA Technical Director for 27 years, made a lively contribution to this debate, speaking in favour of ‘Give Technology a Chance‘ Other presentations included ‘Protecting our Traditional Values‘ by David Duckering of the R&A); ‘The Players‘ Perspective‘ by Paul Eales; ‘Setting Up Courses for PGA European Tour Events‘ by Mike Stewart; and ‘Design Challenges‘ by Tom Mackenzie (EIGCA).
