Ramsdale Park Golf Centre, a BGL venue in Calverton, Nottinghamshire, is pleased to welcome the newest member of their team, Stephen Norton, who has taken on the role of General Manager at the club.

Having grown up in a golfing family, Stephen has always aspired to combine his passion for the game with his career and manage a successful golf centre such as Ramsdale.

The new General Manager’s career in sport began whilst he was at the University of Lincoln where he was studying Recreation Management. Stephen began working as a fitness instructor in a local gym and never looked back.

After 13 years, being manager for five different gyms, and progressing to the role of regional manager for a well-known gym chain, the opportunity arose for him to work within the golf industry and he grasped it with both hands.

“Managing Ramsdale Park Golf Centre not only offers an opportunity to combine my passion with my career, but also fulfils my aspirations of managing a golf centre,” commented Norton, “The facilities are great at the club, both golfing and non-golfing, so it’s a real pleasure to a part of it and help it grow and develop through my new role.”

The centre is tipped as one of the most popular golf and function venues in Nottingham, and has enjoyed recent renovations to its function suite, and increased popularity in the local area after announcing that the centre will be home to Nottingham’s newest music festival, Ramsdale Live.

The centre boasts two 18-hole courses, a driving range, golf school and shop, and Mr Mulligan’s Pirate Golf Adventure Golf, an 18-hole miniature adventure golf course.
