HLL Humberts Leisure, the golf and leisure property specialists, has been appointed jointly with Newlands Rennie Wilkins to market Shirenewton Home Farm Estate, Chepstow. Offers in the region of £2.5 million are invited for the freehold property.

Shirenewton Home Farm Estate is a mixed use 196 hectare (485 acre) freehold estate, which comprises an established 18 hole golf club, a 5 bedroom farmhouse, 3 letting apartments, a 3 bedroom cottage, plus 95 hectares (234 acres) of agricultural land / woodland. The property is located west of Chepstow, some 6 miles from the old Severn bridge / M48 motorway, which leads to the M4 / M5 interchange at Bristol. Shirenewton Home Farm Estate is some 17 miles from Bristol, 30 miles from Cardiff and 130 from London with access via the M4 motorway.

Shirenewton Golf Club occupies 93 hectares (230 acres) of the estate. The club, which was established in 1995, comprises an 18 hole 6,607 yard golf course, substantial clubhouse, golf shop and greenkeepers compound. The business has not been operated on a commercial basis to date (as the business is controlled by overseas directors) and offers great potential for expansion. The club has a membership of approximately 300.

Ben Allen is handling the sale at HLL Humberts Leisure. “The Shirenewton Home Farm Estate is a rare opportunity to acquire a mixed-use estate that would be ideal for a lifestyle purchaser,” he said. “The property offers a range of residential accommodation, amenity land and a business that has great potential. We anticipate strong demand for this estate.”

Nick Hill who is handling the sale at Newland Rennie Wilkins said, “The Shirenewton Home Farm Estate is an unusually large mixed acreage to come on to the market in this part of South East Wales which is most accessible, in a beautiful location.”
