With the Scottish Open under way and The Open to follow next week, golf mania is sweeping the country and, for enthusiasts in the sport, there is a new investment opportunity with Oatridge Golf Course in West Lothian for sale through leading Scottish property consultants, CKD Galbraith.
The golf course was opened in 2000 by local golfing hero and former Ryder Cup captain Bernard Gallacher. It is set among gently rolling parkland by the village of Ecclesmachan, Broxburn and was formerly part of Binny House, an eighteenth century mansion.
Oatridge is a nine-hole course (par 35) which extends to 2793 yards and covers 54 acres. The adjacent field, which comprises woodland and a former quarry, extending to approximately 13 acres, is also part of the sale. This field currently provides good quality grazing for livestock but is suitable for expansion of the golf course subject to planning consent. The quarry is flooded and provides an excellent source for the automated irrigation system for watering the greens.
