European Golf Design Has Italian Job

9.35am 11th November 1999 - Salesroom & Memorabilia

European Golf Design has signed a contract with Italian hotel group Appia Antica to design an 18 hole golf course at Fasano on the Southern Adriatic coast. EGD is currently in the finishing stages of the detailed design work and construction is expected to begin before the end of this year. The 6,800 yard, par 72 course has been designed to incorporate local vegetation and compliment the natural landscape.

Appia Antica is to build a luxury hotel adjacent to the course and the site is also expected to include a housing development.

This course will offer the regular golfer a challenging round at the same time as making the most of the surrounding landscape,” says Jeremy Slessor of EGD. “It is also situated within driving distance of Brindisi where there is an airport which means that there is an opportunity for short break holidays.”
