Algarve launches ‘First Round’s on Us’ Promotion for Golfers

12.52am 22nd October 2012 - Travel

The Algarve Tourism Association has teamed up with Super Bock (Unicer), Faro Airport (ANA Aeroportos) and Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo de Faro to offer golfers a free beer on arrival in Faro.

Between 22nd October and 4th November 2012, from 11 a. m. to 10 p.m., all golfers arriving at Faro airport to play golf on the Algarve’s many stunning golf courses will be most welcome at the Superbock Hospitality Bar, located just outside the luggage collection area in the arrivals hall.

Golfers will simply need to show proof of a starting-time/greenfee during their stay at any of the region’s golf courses, by presenting either their golf tour operator voucher or their own booking confirmation, for the complimentary beer.

The Algarve is a favourite destination for golfers looking to play overseas during the colder winter months.

Perfect for beginners and experienced players alike to practice their swing, the Algarve provides some of the best golfing conditions in Europe, with mild temperatures, calm winds, championship standard golf courses and a variety of high standard accommodation that will satisfy every golfer’s needs.

The Algarve remains a popular golf holiday destination and is currently seeing a boost in golf tourism. António Pina, President of the Algarve’s tourism board said, “Golf tourism now represents 12% of the region’s tourism revenue and has seen a 20% increase in the number of rounds played since 1999.”

For golfers looking to experience the Algarve’s glowing portfolio of courses, the region is a direct three hour flight from the UK into Faro where a refreshing beer on arrival now awaits! Over seven UK airlines including Monarch, BA, Jet2, BMI, Ryanair and Easyjet serve the Algarve from 26 regional airports making the region one of the most accessible golf destinations in Europe.
