Costa Del Sol Launches Numerous Great Offers For Summer Golf

Costa Del Sol logoGolf courses on the Costa del Sol – the European continent’s premier golf destination – have launched numerous offers to play for reduced prices during the summer season. Major discounts for green fees, special weekly, bi-weekly and monthly vouchers, classes for individuals or the whole family… most of the courses on the “Costa del Golf”, which comprises Málaga’s coastline and the Sotogrande area at the eastern end of Cádiz province, have great offers for this summer.

There are offers for all budgets, as the range of Costa del Sol courses is wide and varied, from attractive pitch and putt layouts to internationally renowned clubs such as, for example, Valderrama, Finca Cortesín, Aloha, Las Brisas and Flamingos, all of which have hosted some of the most important tournaments in the world, including the Ryder Cup, World Match Play Championship and World Cup, as well as European Tour events.

As an example, outlined below are some of the special offers to play golf on the Costa del Sol this summer, while the Costa de Sol Patronato de Turismo (Tourism Board) website (www.visitacostadelsol.com/green-fees) also features an extensive list of offers for both green fees and holiday packages including hotel and golf. It is worthwhile checking out the website on a regular basis as the offers are updated daily.

Finca Cortesín, one of the Costa del Sol courses that have hosted major competitions, located in Casares municipality and the venue for three editions of the World Match Play Championship, is offering a twilight green fee this summer, from 2pm, for 139 euros with buggy included.

Marbella Golf has launched an offer, valid until 14 September, including two green fees and buggy for 140 euros, and a twilight green fee (from 4pm) with buggy for 60 euros. Marbella Golf also offers highly discounted prices for golf with many other Spanish clubs with which it has interchange agreements. In addition, the club is selling weekly (210 euros), fortnightly (300) and monthly (400 for individuals, 740 for couples) vouchers including unlimited golf and the use of buggies between June and August. Furthermore, its golf academy has organised golf and tennis or golf-only camps for children.

At Santa Clara Golf (Marbella), golfers can take advantage of the following offers: two green fees plus buggy for 124 euros, and twilight (green fee plus buggy, from 3pm) for 56 euros. This club also has an interchange agreement with clubs in the Madrid region: a 41-euro green fee for 18 holes and 26 euros for nine holes.

Atalaya Golf & Country Club, located in Estepona municipality and comprising two 18-hole courses, is selling vouchers for varying periods. These include the whole summer (June, July, August and September) for 880 euros, one month (220 euros in June, 390 in July, 440 in August and 250 in September) and two weeks (145 euros in June, 215 in July and 250 in August). The club also club offers a twilight green fee of 34 euros, and another of 85 euros for two green fees and buggy (New Course). In addition, there are special rates for players registered with the Royal Andalucian Golf Federation: children under 12 pay just 10 euros for a round and adults, 43 euros.

Los Naranjos Golf, located in Marbella’s Golf Valley and designed by Robert Trent Jones, has a summer offer for two players with buggy included of 130 euros. For members of clubs officially belonging to the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, the rate for two players plus buggy is reduced to 118 euros.

Baviera Golf, situated to the east of Málaga city in Vélez-Málaga municipality, has the following summer offers, valid until 30 September: two players 18 holes with buggy, 100 euros (68 for nine holes); one month of unlimited golf, 500 euros for one person or 900 for two; 18 holes plus trolley for 55 euros (nine holes, 35); and 18 holes with buggy for 67 euros (nine holes, 49). The club also has an interchange agreement in which members of more than 30 clubs throughout Spain can enjoy reduced rates. In addition, in July the Baviera golf academy offers fortnightly courses for children and teenagers aged from 5 to 18. These include golf classes and other leisure and sport activities, from 9am to 2pm Monday to Friday, costing 110 euros.

Marbella Club Golf Resort, owned by the same group that the famous Marbella Club and Puente Romano hotels belong to, has a special summer offer for green fee with buggy included of 75 euros. El Higueral Golf, also part of the Marbella Club Group, offers a full tee-time (four players), 18 holes for 90 euros. In both cases, the prices are valid until the end of August.

Benalmádena Golf, a pitch and putt course located in the municipality of the same name, offers summer camps between 15 July and 30 August for children aged from five to 14 years. They are held from Monday to Friday 9.30am to 1.30pm, including workshops, breakfast, golf classes and games of skill, costing 90 euros or 75 for students from the Patronato Deportivo Municipal (municipal sports organisation). The club also offers two green fees for the price of one, and discounts of 25 per cent for both adult courses and individual classes. Another option is its express golf course, one and a half hours plus green fee and snack for 15 euros per child or 29.95 per adult.
