The Italian pairing of Massimiliano Perletti and his 13 year old daughter & Vittoria won the 7th World Invitational Father & Daughter, the first time the event was held at the Old Head Of Kinsale Golf Links. The Perletti’s won with a two day cumulative score of 90 points with the Irish teams of Roddy & Sophie Carr and Liam and Hannah Reidy, being tied for 2nd on 89 points. Marty & Julia Carr tied for fourth with US team Tim & Brittany Baxter on 87 points.

The three day event was held at the Internationally acclaimed Links which was co-designed by Joe Carr and Ron Kirby, having previously been hosted at Doonbeg Golf Club for the previous 6 years.  24 teams from Ireland, Canada, US and Italy played the 36 hole best ball stable-ford tournament in fantastic conditions with the golf course in fantastic condition.

Speaking at the awards dinner at the Old Head, Walker Cup player Roddy Carr spoke of the incredible bond between Fathers and Daughters and how, playing in his first event with his daughter Sophie, it was an experience that was a once in a life time opportunity. Roddy also treated the guests to the history behind the design of the Old Head and the relationship between the Carr & O’Connor families. “Both JB (Carr)and John O’Connor, co-owner with his brother Patrick, were great pals and the two who collaborated on the design with others, over several years, have both passed and hosting this event here at the Old Head is really special”.

The event will be held at the Old Head of Kinsale, again in July 2015. For further information contact Sinead Maher Sinead@carrgolf.com
