QHotels, the UK’s largest golf resort operator, is offering children the chance to stay and play for free during selected school holidays this summer thanks to its new partnership with England Golf and Your Golf Travel.

Youngsters under 16 can enjoy complimentary accommodation and a free round of golf at any of QHotels’ nine golf resorts in England when staying overnight with an adult during the May half-term, summer and October half-term holidays.*

Featuring a host of top venues including Slaley Hall, Forest Pines Hotel & Golf Resort and Oulton Hall, the eye-catching ‘Family Golf Breaks’ are valid for up to two children per room when staying with one full-paying adult, with packages starting from just £79 per person.

In addition to free golf and accommodation, juniors can also enjoy a host of other benefits with the promotion including price reductions on food, free buckets of driving range balls and discounted lessons (where available).

John Angus, group director of golf for QHotels, said: “Like England Golf and Your Golf Travel, QHotels is firmly committed to getting more children playing golf on a regular basis, and we’re delighted to be partnering with them on this new initiative.

“Unfortunately, there are still too many barriers put up to prevent juniors playing the game and changing that remains one of our key objectives. Far from turning people away, we should be encouraging as many people as possible to pick up a golf club and get involved.”

Richard Flint, England Golf’s participation and club support director, said: “Golf is a great game for all the family to play together and hopefully these breaks will encourage mums and dads to get their youngsters on the course and start the habit of a lifetime.”

The initiative is the latest in a series of forward-thinking concepts backed by QHotels aimed at promoting junior golf, including offering free memberships to children with the group’s QFairway scheme – the country’s most flexible golf membership.

Launched last year and available to youngsters aged 15 and under, all juniors receive a free membership when they sign up to the enterprising new club, providing their parent or guardian also has adult membership at the same time.

Named AA Hotel Group of the Year in 2014/15, QHotels features a host of prestigious venues in its portfolio including Slaley Hall, Forest Pines, Belton Woods and Mottram Hall.

The multi-award-winning four-star golf group offers tournament and championship-standard courses in 10 unique resort locations across England and Scotland.

* The ‘Family Golf Breaks’ are subject to availability and is valid on the following dates: May 27-June 5, July 21-September 4 and October 22-30.
