The Oulton Hall Golf Academy is currently ranked the #1 Young Masters Golf (YMG) centre in the UK, following an impressive performance on the programme in the opening months of 2008.
Although Oulton Hall has only been a YMG centre since August of last year, participants on the programme at the resort near Leeds passed the highest number of levels (179) between January and March to claim top spot out of the 400 YMG centres in the country.
The Golf Academy at Oulton Hall opened earlier this year and aside from helping children get into the sport from a young age, it’s also designed to provide the north’s best golf teaching facilities for elite golfers and high handicappers alike.
It boasts revolutionary and innovative facilities including a floodlit 16 bay driving range containing fully automated power tee systems, short game facilities and two double teaching bays, in addition to state of the art ‘Technology Room’ with pioneering swing analysis software and biomechanics equipment.

Oulton Hall has added to its support of the YMG programme by agreeing to host one of the qualifying events in this year’s YMG Junior Masters, which will take place on The Hall course on Thursday 7th August. The tournament will be broken down into five different age groups, with the boy and girl winner in each category progressing to the National Final.
YMG is designed for boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 16 years old. 65,000 youngsters throughout the UK and Ireland are already taking part in the programme that is coached by 13,000 PGA qualified professional golf coaches. It covers every aspect of the game and gives participants targets to work to by including exciting challenges. Whilst YMG is designed to be fun and exciting, it also rewards achievement.
