David Golding has often been described as the unsung hero of greenkeeper education, but after being presented with the Outstanding Contribution Award sponsored by Baroness at the BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition, that’s no longer the case.

Donald Steel, GTC's Chairman led the tributes at a luncheon hosted by the GTC at Aldwark Manor where the GTC and BIGGA have their offices.

‘A defining moment in the history of greenkeeping,’ says BIGGA Chairman, Les Howkins. ‘For the first time we have a recognised apprenticeship scheme from introductory level all the way up to course manager.’
