Former vice-chairman of FEGGA joins Ransomes Jacobsen

Goncalo Carneiro, the former Vice-Chairman of the Federation of European Golf Greenkeepers Association (FEGGA), has joined Ransomes Jacobsen as Export Regional Sales Manager.

Reporting to Sales Director Rupert Price, he will be responsible for business development, equipment sales and dealer support across Portugal, Spain, Greece, Turkey and Bulgaria.

Goncalo completed a four-year degree in Agriculture at Beja University in Portugal before embarking on a career in greenkeeping joining Belas Country Club in Lisbon as an Assistant Greenkeeper. For 12 years he held the post of Course Manager, before establishing a course management consultancy in 2007.

He has a post graduate degree in Management from IGSE/AESE Navarra University in Pamplona, Spain and is a founder member of the Portuguese Greenkeepers Association (Associação Portuguesa de Greenkeepers) and was Chairman for three years from 2005. In 2008 he was appointed Vice Chairman of FEGGA, a position he relinquished on joining Ransomes Jacobsen.

Goncalo will be based in Lisbon, where he lives with his wife Mariana and their three children.

Commenting on the appointment Rupert Price said: “Goncalo is great addition to the sales team here at Ransomes Jacobsen, bringing a wealth of experience to the business, especially his knowledge of the industry on the Iberian peninsular. His intellect and proven management ability will be a great asset, going forward.”
