New management team at John Letters of Scotland

Following a buyout, one of the world’s oldest golf equipment manufacturers has a new management team

Gordon White, a highly successful Glasgow businessman, has led the buyout of the 8- year old company which has its headquarters in the city’s Hillingdon district. He is the major shareholder and will head the new team as company chairman.

That team includes his wife Marion. Marion White comes from one of Scotland’s foremost companies. As a shareholder and director she is one of the few women in the golf industry to hold such a senior position.

Eugene O’Donaghue steps up from his role as financial director and becomes managing director while Gordon Rennie, a fine golfer and the inspiration behind the innovative range of Letters clubs, becomes design and development director. Tim Morrison continues his involvement as a consultant and non-executive director.

“Trading off your reputation is no longer enough to secure a share of a fiercely competitive market,” said Gordon White. “We have plans to increase our share of the market both in the UK and overseas.”

A new product range is being developed and will be launched to the golf industry early this month. The company will be exhibiting at the Munich trade show at the end of September and the Marbella show in November, with participation planned for the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando in January.
