Origin Enterprises logoAmenity and sports turf supplier Origin Amenity, has reached agreement to acquire Headland Amenity, a pioneering supplier of turf fertilisers, chemicals, wetting agents and bio stimulants. Headland Amenity complements Origin’s existing operations.

The agreement is subject to clearance by the Competition and Markets Authority, which is expected by the end of June 2016.

At the completion of the deal, Headland Amenity will operate as an autonomous Origin division and its current directors – Mark De’Ath, Mark Hunt and Andy Russell – will stay with the business to ensure seamless continuity for its suppliers and customers who include golf courses, cricket and bowling clubs, sports pitches, racecourses, landscapers, local authorities, lawn care specialists and contractors.

Headland Amenity was established in 1994 as a division of Headland Agrochemicals, a then British independent supplier of adjuvants and micronutrient products to agriculture. In 2002 it was purchased as a management buy-out by the directors.
