Ping introduces new technology putter in 9 models

Golf innovator Ping will reveal its latest putter design technology at the PGA Merchandise Show when the company introduces its second generation of Isopur putters. The new series of nine PINGà’ putters will be called Isopur2à”

The Ping Isopur2 series will be launched at the PGA Merchandise Show later this month and features tungsten weights strategically placed in the heel and toe to create a greater moment of inertia and exceptional feel.

“Adding tungsten weights to the heel and toe of our most successful stainless steel putters is a design innovation that will enhance the performance benefits of perimeter weighting,” said John A. Solheim, Ping Chairman & CEO.

Ping founder Karsten Solheim pioneered perimeter weighting in the golf industry in the 1950’s by using the simple laws of physics and mechanics. The performance benefits of perimeter weighting are found in all Ping putters and improved upon in the Isopur2.

“We’ve also been able to lower the centre of gravity in the Isopur2 series, making the ball roll better off the putter face,” continued the Ping Chairman. “Our Isopur2 putters are more forgiving and will offer golfers improved putting performance as well as enhanced optics.

“The new Isopur2 putters are slightly heavier than the Ping Isopur models that they replace,” said Solheim. “Tungsten is more than twice the density of steel. Many golfers prefer heavier putters because they encourage a smoother stroke.”

The nine Isopur2 putters will be available for delivery in early spring. Suggested retail price for eight of the models will be £110. The long-shafted Isopur2 B90 putter will be £125.
