Jack Nicklaus’s design company is expected to win the contract from three other bidders

to design a new 18-hole championship layout at Llanelli in South Wales.

The course, which will be the Golden Bear’s first venture into Wales, will be built on the Machynys Peninsular as part of the Millennium Coastal Park.

The man behind the project is Jim Anderson, formerly the owner of The Hertfordshire at Broxbourne in Hertfordshire
