Stapleford Park project on course

The first phase in the development of a new multi-million pound, 18-hole championship golf course has begun at Stapleford Park, Leicester. Stapleford Park is an outpost of the exclusive Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle and the new £5m development will be built along similar lavish lines.

The course is being designed by Donald Steel, one of the world’s leading links architects. It will be set within 500 acres of parkland, crafted by the 18th Century landscape gardener Capability Brown and affording outstanding views of the Leicestershire countryside. The existing stables will be converted into a new clubhouse and secondary spa.

The new course is due to open in July 2000 (weather permitting).
