Munich claims position as key trade fair for golf in Europe

Golf Europe 2000, the 8th International Trade Fair for Golf, ended on 26th September with the organisers, Messe Munchen GmbH, claiming that buyers from more countries than ever had visited the show. The event has now outgrown the MOC’s capacity and will move to the New Munich Trade Fair Centre in 2002

Golf Europe 2000, the 8th International Trade Fair for Golf, ended on 26th September with the organisers, Messe Munchen GmbH, claiming that the three day event had been a great success for both exhibitors and visitors alike.

The previous year’s record attendance level was reached again with some 3,500 trade visitors. Golf pros and golf retailers travelled to Munich from 47 countries (1999:44 countries) with the largest contingents of foreign visitors coming from Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy, Great Britain and the Czech Republic. For the first time visitors also came from Andorra, Ecuador, Qatar, Liechtenstein, New Zealand, Russia and Cyprus.

There were 266 exhibitors from 21 countries and a market research survey reported that 99% were extremely satisfied with the outcome of the Fair.

The MOC’s capacity of 15,000 square metres in 4 halls has now reached its limit. Although Golf Europe 2001 will return to MOC from 7th to 9th October, the Tenth Year Jubilee Show in 2002 will be held at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre.
