The van Kesteren Foundation Extends Support for The Golf Trust

This relationship has enabled The Golf Trust to take golf to people in 3 project areas; disability, care settings, and young people from low incomes. In the last year, The Golf Trust engaged with over 600 people aged 12 to 103, more than half of which were children, with 90 coming from Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools and community groups

The Golf Trust is proud to announce that it has secured a 3 year funding grant from The van Kesteren Foundation, an organisation dedicated to supporting independent charities primarily working with children.

“The van Kesteren Foundation has been a supporter of the Golf Trust since 2021 and has now committed to provide support for the next 3 years (2024, 2025 and 2026),” commented Teresa van Kesteren. “We are very impressed by the work of the Golf Trust team and the real impact they have on the lives of the recipients of the golf programmes and hope our financial backing will help them achieve the objectives planned for the coming 3 years”.

This new award is an extension of the existing agreement that enabled The Golf Trust to take golf to people in 3 project areas; disability, care settings, and young people from low incomes.  In one year, The Golf Trust engaged with over 600 people aged 12 to 103.  More than half of those participants were children, with 90 coming from Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools and community groups.

“I am really proud of the work our team has been able to carry out thanks to the funding we have received from the van Kesteren Foundation,” explains Cae Menai-Davis, Founder of The Golf Trust.  “All of our participants have very different needs, but all of them benefit from taking part in these sessions.  With a 3 year grant we will be able to take golf to even more people and help existing beneficiaries continue on their golf journey.”

Regardless of age, participants in these golf sessions benefited from improvements in their physical health, general mood, communication skills, and confidence, as well as reducing the impact of isolation in care settings.
