Greenkeepers need to snap to it to be in with a chance of winning prizes in the ‘My Course Photo Competition’ organised by British Seed Houses.

Dozens of photographs have already been submitted from all over Britain and the deadline of 11th October is fast approaching. There is a top prize of an iPad mini for the winner and eleven runners-up will receive British Seed Houses’ polo shirts.

In addition the 12 best photographs will feature in a desktop calendar notepad which will be distributed to golf clubs around the country free of charge to showcase the images to a wider audience and provide a handy aid for greenkeepers.

Richard Brown, Amenity Sales Manager of British Seed Houses, said: “We have been very impressed with the response to the competition. We have some fantastic photos sent in by greenkeepers who are obviously proud of their courses and our judges will have a hard task to pick the best ones.

“If anyone else is thinking of taking part I would remind them that they need to act fast to make the deadline.”

Photos can be sent via Twitter to @bshamenity or emailed to seeds@bshlincoln.co.uk headed ‘My Course Photo Comp’ by the closing date of 11 October 2013. They should state the sender’s name and contact details, where the photo was taken and any other details about the image which could help the judges make their decision.

The best picture will be used on the front page of the calendar notepad. Landscape-shaped photos of sufficient quality to print are requested and they can have been taken any time during the last two years. There is no limit to the number of entries one person can submit but greenkepeers should seek permission from their clubs before they submit them.

For full details of the rules please visit www.bshamenity.com where a selection of entries can also be found.
