IMG logoIMG has been appointed by BBC Sport to produce its live and highlights television coverage of golf for 2016.

IMG will produce live coverage of the Ricoh Women’s British Open from Woburn from 29-31 July and highlights of four other events for the BBC, including a two-hour peak-time daily highlights show from The 145th Open Championship from Royal Troon from 14-17 July.

Highlights will also be produced from the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth from 26-29 May, the AAM Scottish Open from Castle Stuart from 7-10 July and the 2016 Ryder Cup from Hazeltine National from 27 September – 2 October.

Graham Fry, Global Head of Production for IMG, said: “This is an exciting line up of top golf events played in the UK with the top men and lady golfers in the world competing. Danny Willett’s outstanding victory in The Masters will no doubt have whetted the appetite for British golf fans and Ryder Cup year always brings a special magic to the other events for players on both sides of the Atlantic.”

He added: “IMG has vast experience in producing both live and recorded coverage from the world’s top events through our joint venture with the European Tour where we produce around 700 hours of coverage every year.”
