Launch of “Golf Science International”

The World Scientific Congress of Golf Trust has launched a bi-monthly magazine. All the articles which appear in Golf Science International are based on pure science

The World Scientific Congress of Golf Trust is based at St Andrews and has the support of both the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews and the United States Golf Association.

“Golf Science International”, in the words of its Editor Valerie Melvin, “will seek to identify complex research materials previously only existing in the domain of academia and, with the help and guidance of experts, often highly technical studies will be translated into articles that contain everyday language.”

The magazine will carry no advertising. A subscription costs £25 for six issues to readers in the United Kingdom and £30 to overseas readers. The lead article in this month’s issue examines one of golf’s most controversial issues, the “Trampoline” effect, and asks what’s all the fuss about. Included in the June issue is the first a two part exclusive about “The Yips”. The articles will seek to unravel the scientific theories behind one of golf’s more mysterious afflictions.
