Baron at the Manor

A former Gleneagles professional has been recruited to help Celtic Manor gear up for the Wales Open in June.

Chris Baron, 33, has been appointed golf operations manager at the 1,400-acre complex and will take over customer services while his colleagues concentrate on bringing the Ryder Cup to south Wales.

Baron has been joined at Celtic Manor, which has a 400-room hotel, convention centre, health clubs and three courses, by 44-year-old Scot Michael Duffy, the new director of sales and marketing.
