Matt Johns of Bath-based environmental consultancy Johns Associates has been appointed as a Sustainability Associate for the Golf Environment Organisation (GEO) www.golfenvironment.org

The Golf Environment Organisation is working to maximise the social, economic and environmental benefits of golf and is helping the global golf industry establish leadership in environmental management and corporate responsibility.

The remit of a Sustainability Associate covers landscape and ecology, water, energy, waste, communities and supply chain.

The focus of GEO includes golf development, course management, events and products.

One of only six in the UK, Matt’s Sustainability Associate role involves providing support to clubs wanting to achieve the GEO Certification™ eco label, carrying out the Certification inspections or follow up Verifications.
