Nine hole golf course and driving range sells for £150,000

Kingstand Golf Course near Leicester has been sold at auction. The buyer is an existing golf facility operator who paid £150,000 for a 26 year leasehold of the property

FPDSavills have sold at auction a 26 year leasehold interest in Kingstand Golf Course on behalf of BDO Stoy Hayward. The course is situated to the west of Leicester not far from the main A47 Leicester to Hinckley road. It is approximately 5 miles from junction 21A on the M1 motorway. The as yet unnamed purchaser is an existing golf facility operator and the price paid was £150,000.

The property comprises a nine hole golf course estimated as par 34 built in the early to mid 1990’s. The course has been unused for two years and is in need of refurbishment. There is a two storey clubhouse extending to approximately 13,500 sq. ft. This overlooks the golf course but is not completed. Other buildings include a 24 bay driving range, greenkeeper’s store, two residential flats and manager’s accommodation. The hard core car park is able to take up to about 80 cars.

Sarah Payne of FPDSavills said that there had been a high level of interest in the property. “The auction was well attended and there were several competitive bidders,” she continued.
