Staverton Park sold to new owners

Northamptonshire property that features a 247-room hotel and an 18-hole golf course changes hands.

Staverton Park Hotel and Golf Club, one of the UK’s largest golf hotels, has been sold for an undisclosed sum.

Spread across 150 acres in the Northamptonshire countryside, the property features a 247-room hotel, an 18-hole golf course and a separate leisure centre with a swimming pool.

The site is also home to the Grill Restaurant, the Catesby Bar and the Golf Bar and Patio, as well as conference and events facilities across 61 meeting rooms.

Christie & Co, which managed the sale, said that with its various hospitality, wellness and outdoor facilities, Staverton Park caters to corporate and leisure guests alike year round.

Staverton Park’s 6,660-yard parkland course first opened in 1977 and was designed by John Harris

The property’s buyers are a UK-based family business, who plan to enhance its already successful operations through further investment.

Christie and Co acted on behalf of funds managed by Zetland Capital.

The property was brought to market in September 2024, at which time Christie and Co said it offered “exceptional opportunity for a new owner to build upon its growing success and increasing profitability”.

Commenting on the sale, Christie & Co head of brokerage Jeremy Jones, said: “The sale of Staverton Park represents the largest transaction of a full-service golf resort this year. The substantial growth in consumer spending on fitness, leisure and wellness, is reflected in trading levels at resort hotels like Staverton.”
