In order to exploit a new opportunity the vendors have instructed Strutt & Parker’s Leisure and Hotels Department to reduce the price and seek offers in excess of £1,000,000 by Friday 5th February 2010.

This represents a substantial saving on the price of £1.3m quoted when the property was brought to market in January 2009.

Laid out over around 145 acres of parkland the course closed around six years ago. It was originally developed as an 18 hole golf course and floodlit 20 bay driving range with separate clubhouse and functions buildings.

In 2008 a valuable planning consent for a new 54 bedroom full service hotel was obtained. Situated 3 miles north of Warminster, just off the busy A36 Thoulstone is easily accessible for locals and visitors to Longleat, Frome and Bath.

Chris Gooch, who is handling the sale for Strutt & Parker, said, “This is a very exciting opportunity, with around 145 acres of parkland plus a valuable hotel planning consent we expect considerable interest at this reduced price.”
