Cleated Footwear Captures Third Major Of The Year With PGA Championship Victory

World Number Two ranked player wears replaceable cleat technology in capturing 2018 PGA Championship and US Open

Continuing a growing trend, the winner of the PGA Championship was wearing replaceable cleat technology this past weekend. This marks the third straight major that the winner – and the majority of the top finishers – chose cleated footwear to assist in their performance on the course.

“It has been quite a year for our company and our products,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for PrideSports. “It started with being named to the inaugural National Golf Foundation’s Top 100 Businesses in Golf list. Now, we’re continuing to see the top players in the world – and everyday golfers – recognise the performance that comes from golf cleats.

“Having our products on the feet of three major champions just reinforces the value of stability and traction on the course,” he added.

At the PGA Championship, 31 of the top 35 finishers chose replaceable cleat technology over spikeless shoe styles. This includes both the second and third place finishers.

This success was not limited to the final major of the year. Cleated footwear was worn by winners of the Web.com’s Ellie Mae Classic and the Asian Tour’s TAKE Solutions Masters.

PrideSports is the undisputed leader in the golf cleat segment with its CHAMP® and Softspikes® brands. CHAMP’s Helix, Zarma Tour and Stinger cleats, as well as Softspikes’ PiviX, Pulsar, Silver Tornado and Stealth cleats, dominate the OEM and secondary market in terms of performance and sales.
