England Golf launches national Titleist Women’s Four-Ball competition

England Golf partners with Titleist to create a new competition for female amateur golfers

England Golf has announced the launch of an all‑new national competition for 2026 – the Titleist Women’s Four-Ball.

The four-ball format has grown in the past 12 months, with 2025 showing a 68% increase in four-ball scores being entered for handicapping purposes in England.

And with the governing body’s commitment to driving inclusivity and accessibility across the sport, the new tournament will provide more opportunities for women and girls to play team golf, with a chance to progress to a National Final.

Open to all clubs affiliated to England Golf, the competition invites clubs to run their own women’s four‑ball Stableford qualifier and submit their winning pair by July 8. The pair returning the highest number of Stableford points in each club qualifier will go forward as that club’s official entry. The cost to enter a winning pair is only £10.

In keeping with England Golf’s commitment to accessibility and opportunity, we also invite clubs who enter to make a recommended donation of £5 per pair from all those taking part in the club qualifying round, to the England Golf Trust. All contributions will support the charity’s brilliant work in providing opportunities for young people to continue to play and progress in golf.

From the nationwide pool of club winners, the seven highest‑scoring pairs from each of the four handicap divisions will earn a coveted place in the National Final, held on the iconic Hotchkin Course at Woodhall Spa on August 12.

Woodhall Spa’s Hotchkin Course will host the Titleist Women’s Four-Ball national final in August

In addition, all unsuccessful entries shall be entered into a ballot. One pair from each of the four handicap divisions shall be randomly drawn and be given a wildcard place into the National Final. A total of 64 players will then compete for national honours on one of the world’s finest inland courses.

As a proud partner of England Golf, and Tournament Sponsor, Titleist will present every finalist with a special prize to mark their achievement. Additional Titleist prizes will be awarded to the top three pairs at the National Final, recognising the outstanding four‑ball performances on the day.

Titleist Brand Director Michael Creighton said: “We are thrilled to partner with England Golf on the launch of the Titleist Women’s Four-Ball. This competition shines a light on the passion, skill, and camaraderie that define the women’s game. Supporting an event that encourages participation at every level is something we are incredibly proud to be part of.”

England Golf Championships Director James Crampton said: “The Titleist Women’s Four-Ball is an exciting addition to our national calendar and reflects our ambition to create more opportunities for women and girls to compete, connect, and enjoy the game. We’re delighted to work with Titleist on a competition that celebrates club golf and showcases the depth of talent across the country.”

England Golf Trust Chair, Moira Page, added: “I’d like to express our sincere thanks to England Golf and Titleist for agreeing to support the England Golf Trust through the fantastic platform of the new Titleist Women’s Four-Ball event. We’re also incredibly grateful to everyone who will choose to donate. Your support will enable us to provide significant opportunities for young people to enjoy and progress in the sport we all love, through our grants and bursary awards.”

Clubs are encouraged to schedule their qualifiers early to give players the best chance to take part in this new nationwide celebration of women’s golf.
