The Ladies European Tour Order of Merit will be renamed the Race to Costa del Sol from 2020 and offer a bonus prize fund of €250,000 to the top three finishers in the season-long ranking.

This means that whoever tops the money list at the end of the year will receive an additional €125,000, with the second highest finisher receiving €75,000 and €50,000 for the third placed player.

The Andalucia Costa del Sol Open, which starts this Thursday at Aloha Golf Club in Marbella, will also see its prize money doubled from next year. The prize pot for the event in 2020 will be €600,000. The tournament is being backed with the joint support of the Ministry of Tourism of Andalucía, Turismo Costa del Sol, and the Commonwealth of Municipalities of the Costa del Sol Occidental and the municipalities of Benahavís and Marbella.

Norway’s Marianne Skarpnord currently leads the LET’s 2019 Order of Merit, with €162,000 in win and place prize money from 16 events, which has included one win and eight further top-1o finishes. The final event of the season takes place at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open from December 5-8 at Vipingo Ridge Golf Club.
