As part of a commitment to expanding its connection to cardholders with a passion for golf, MasterCard announces its newest ambassador, Sir Nick Faldo, golf legend and winner of six major championships — three Open Championships and three Masters — and more than 40 tournament victories.

The announcement was made at The Open Championship yesterday.

The newly minted relationship will add to the company’s roster of seven world-class golf ambassadors including Ian Poulter, Graeme McDowell, Camilo Villegas, Boo Weekley, Brandt Snedeker, Harris English and five-time Open Championship winner and golfing legend, Tom Watson.

“Connecting people with their passions while delivering surprise and delight experiences is the essence of what Priceless is all about,” said Alfredo Gangotena, Chief Marketing Officer, MasterCard Worldwide. “Golf continues to be a passion for our cardholders and the addition of Sir Nick Faldo to the roster of brand ambassadors represents a crown jewel in our campaign.”

MasterCard’s sponsorship of golfing properties at a global level includes the Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by MasterCard, the PGA TOUR, the Champions Tour and The Open Championship.
