A host of some of golf’s most renowned names will return to Sunningdale Golf Club this week for the 39th edition of the ISPS HANDA Senior Open.

Legends of the game from around the world will compete on the Old Course from July 23-27 in what promises to be a star-studded affair, with 16 Major Champions, 18 Senior Major winners, over 30 Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup players and more than 100 winners from the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR set to play.

Major Champions from six continents will tee it up at the famed Berkshire venue, including multiple Major winners Ernie Els, Pádraig Harrington, Bernhard Langer, José María Olazábal, Retief Goosen and Angel Cabrera. Other international Major winners competing include Rich Beem, Michael Campbell, Stewart Cink, David Duval, Justin Leonard, Shaun Micheel, Corey Pavin, who also captained the United States at the 2010 Ryder Cup, Justin Leonard and Y.E. Yang, alongside home favourites Darren Clarke, Paul Lawrie and Ian Woosnam.

A number of European Ryder Cup Captains are also playing next week, with record eight-time European Number One Colin Montgomerie, 15-time DP World Tour winner Thomas Bjørn and Paul McGinley participating.

K.J. Choi is the defending champion after becoming the first Senior Major winner from South Korea last year, and he is one of a number of former Senior Open Champions in the field, joined by Miguel Angel Jiménez, Alex Čejka, Stephen Dodd and Paul Broadhurst. Jiménez won the Senior Open on the Old Course at St Andrews in 2018 and he claimed his third Senior Major last month at the Kaulig Companies Championship. The Spaniard was also runner-up to Dodd when the Senior Open was last played at Sunningdale in 2021.

Ryder Cup players David Howell and Stephen Gallacher are among those making their Senior Open debuts, as well as DP World Tour winners Søren Kjeldsen and Anthony Wall.

Tickets are still available to see legends of the game in action at Sunningdale, with prices set to increase to the on-the-gate price at 4pm this afternoon, Thursday July 17.
