Last weekend’s Grass & Co. English Legends tournament at Brocket Hall saw another dominant performance by golfers who rely on SkyCaddie for their yardages.

Eight of the top ten finishers used their SkyCaddie GPS rangefinder at the event.

This continues the long run which SkyCaddie has enjoyed on the Legends Tour, formerly known as the European Senior Tour, since it became involved in 2021.

Legends Tour competitors buy their own SkyCaddies and use them by choice. The company’s James Holmes said: “For five seasons now the majority of Legends Tour competitors have trusted SkyCaddie’s ground-mapped yardages in tournament play, including the last four Order Of Merit winners.

“They use them not because they are contracted to do so, but because the information their SkyCaddie gives them genuinely helps them to score better.”

Holmes continued: “We regularly see 70% to 80% of the Legends Tour field these days using SkyCaddie GPS, week in, week out. They use SkyCaddie’s detailed course maps off the tee and also for layups and positional decisions, and for shots directly to the flagstick as we give them an exact yardage not only to today’s pin position, but also to the major green contours, the exact green shape from their angle of attack, and of course the exact size and location of all hazards around the green.

“This is comprehensively more than you can get from a single number on a laser. And it’s all made possible by how we painstakingly map and update each golf course on foot, which is a service that is unique and unrivalled in the sport.”

SkyCaddie is Official Distance Measurement Device for the Legends Tour, and tour officials use SkyCaddie yardages to produce pin sheets which show the week’s pin positions.

Users can then download each day’s pin placements directly to their SkyCaddie device, giving laser-accurate yardages from anywhere on the hole.
