The ticket ballot for the 154th Open Championship at Royal Birkdale is now open, but fans will need to act quickly to secure their place at golf’s most historic major.
The ticket ballot opened on June 30 and closes in just over three weeks – on 25 July.
The ticket ballot is available exclusively to members of One Club, the free-to-join digital membership programme presented by Mastercard. A high level of demand is anticipated for Championship Days, so fans can increase their chances of being selected in the ballot by also including non-Championship days in their application.
Ticket prices for The 154th Open will start from £30 for an adult on the opening Sunday, rising throughout the week of the Championship to £150 for the final round.
The R&A is fully committed to encouraging more children and young adults to attend The Open, so free tickets will be available to children through the ‘Kids go Free’ programme, while half-price youth tickets are available for 16-24 year olds. These tickets must also be applied for using the ticket ballot.
For the first time The R&A is now offering ‘Destination Packages‘, which allow ticket-inclusive accommodation and travel experiences while guaranteeing their place at The Open next year.
A range of hospitality packages are also available, with perks including exclusive access to behind-the-scenes experiences and reserved grandstand seating and other viewing options.
“The ticket ballot continues to be extremely popular, with 1.2 million tickets applied for last year and we are anticipating high demand again,” says Mark Darbon, Chief Executive of The R&A.
