IAGTO Quality Assured Certification in Northern Ireland

Last week ten golf courses in Northern Ireland were presented with IAGTO Quality Assured Certification by Tourism Northern Ireland, with further audits to be carried out next year

At the Belvoir Park Golf Club on 4th December, ten golf courses from Northern Ireland were presented with their IAGTO Quality Assured certification by Tourism Northern Ireland. Further Golf Tourism Audits will take place in Northern Ireland in 2020.

The purpose of the IAGTO audits is to identify golf courses who have positioned themselves in the best possible way to attract first time domestic and international golf visitors. Golf Directors complete IAGTO’s ground-breaking online golf tourism audit before receiving an on-site inspection.

IAGTO considers all aspects of the setup of the golf course, clubhouse and services alongside their commercial relationships with local ground handlers or Destination Management Companies as well as international golf tour operators.

The first 10 recipients of IAGTO Quality Assured Certification in Northern Ireland are:

  • Ardglass Golf Club
  • Castlerock Golf Club
  • Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort
  • Roe Park Resort
  • Malone Golf Club
  • Royal Belfast Golf Club
  • Belvoir Park Golf Club
  • Portstewart Golf Club
  • Royal Portrush Golf Club
  • Hilton Belfast Templepatrick Golf & Country Club

IAGTO looks forward to auditing and visiting more courses in Northern Ireland next year.
