Leading free golf publication Golfnews has appointed a new marketing director. Giancarlo Gambardella has joined Sussex-based Golfnews and its sister title InTheSnow

Giancarlo, 34, will head up media sales across all of Golfnews’ digital channels, having previously worked with The Independent, The i and The Evening Standard, where he specialised in travel.

Winner of many advertising awards during his career, Giancarlo will be working alongside Golfnews’s experienced team, including publisher Matt Nicholson and editor Nick Bayly, to take the title forward in 2015.

A family man with a great passion for all sports, including tennis and kickboxing, Giancarlo was also semi-professional footballer, although he is excited about getting to know the golfing industry.

“I am delighted to have joined the team at Golfnews, and I can’t wait to start working in the golf industry, Giancarlo said. “Golfnews has been publishing for over 20 years now, and being involved in a publication that goes straight into the hands of the playing golfer was a big factor in me joining the team. I’m looking forward to being part of the expansion that Golfnews has planned for 2015 and beyond, both in hard copy and digital media.”

Golfnews has been published since 1994. To contact Giancarlo please email Giancarlo@golfnews.co.uk
