PRG becomes official supplier to the 148th Open Championship

PRG, supplier of bespoke golf accessories, has become a merchandise supplier for The 148th Open Championship and has created an exclusive range of accessories for the final Major of 2019, which gets under way at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland this week.

PRG has worked with the R&A to create and supply a unique range of accessories for three different collections for Royal Portrush – The Open Tartan Collection, The Open Collection and Calamity Corner Collection.

“We are extremely proud to work with the R&A to design and create such a wide range of accessories for The Open Championship,” said PRG CEO Stephen Riley. “The Open is a fantastic event to be involved with and as a brand with Northern Irish roots, we’re delighted to be on-board for the return of the event to Royal Portrush.”

The Open Tartan Collection showcases the tournament’s official tartan and features pom headcovers, tote bags and teddy bears. The Open Collection includes pom headcovers together with Heritage covers for woods, blade and mallet putters, plus alignment sticks, as well as a zip tote bag. The Calamity Corner Collection, taking inspiration from the famous par-3 16th at Royal Portrush by that name, features pom headcovers together with Fusion covers for woods, blade and mallet putters, tote bags, shoe bags and duo yardage ball markers.

Ross Methven of Premier Licensing, PRG’s UK and Irish Distributor, added: “We’ve enjoyed working with the R&A and are excited to be on-site at Royal Portrush to support the retail team and see the success of the PRG products in The Open shop during the event.”

All PRG products will be available in the official Open shop throughout tournament week.
