Duca del Cosma signs up with the KLM Open Tour event

Premium golf shoe brand supports Dutch tournament from 2018

Duca del Cosma, the golf shoe brand entering the UK market with a range of distinctive Italian designs for Spring 2018, is to become an official sponsor of the European Tour’s KLM Open from next year.

The brand, which is now based in Holland under the stewardship of former HI-TEC founder Frank van Wezel, will be supplying footwear to more than 1,500 officials and ground staff at the tournament – recently won by Frenchman Romain Wattel at The Dutch golf course in Spijk, where total prize money of €1.8m was on offer.

Under a three-year agreement with event organisers TIG Sports, Duca del Cosma will also produce a ‘KLM Open’ shoe collection designed by its Creative Director Baldovino Mattiazzo and sold through retail stockists as well as the event itself.

“The Dutch Open is one of the oldest tournaments in Europe having started in 1972 and we are delighted to be able to bring a contemporary look to the well-supported event with our premium golf shoes,” said Frank. “I have a passion for beautifully crafted golf shoes and we intend to make the ‘KLM Open’ collection very special,” he added.

Global expansion of Duca del Cosma products since Frank van Wezel acquired the brand last year has seen new offices open in Germany, the Czech Republic, South Africa and the UK.
