Pleasington Golf Club in Lancashire has released details of a £500,000 investment programme designed to enhance the experience for both members and visitors.
Building on the success of its previous five-year Good2Great initiative, the club is now launching its ambitious ‘Next Level’ project. This next phase will focus on elevating every aspect of the club, from course conditioning to the facilities and overall experience.
Mark Bleasdale, General Manager at Pleasington Golf Club, said: “Following extensive feedback from our members, visitors, agronomists and course assessors, we are proud to introduce the Next Level project. This initiative reflects the insights of our key stakeholders and sets out a clear vision to build on the outstanding experience that Pleasington already has on offer.”
The Next Level programme will focus on several key areas, including:
● Green complexes – enhancements to design, drainage and water management
● Course environment – development of heather, gorse and tree management
● Infrastructure – investment in robotic mowers, irrigation and drainage systems
● Course presentation – improvements to fairways, tees and pathways
● Practice facilities – new grass tees, practice bunkers and upgraded putting greens
● People and management – continued coaching, training and development
● Special projects – targeted initiatives to further elevate the club experience

Building on the momentum of its Golf World Top 200 England Courses and Golf Monthly Top 200 UK & Ireland rankings, the club is attracting golfers from around the world this summer as fans travel to the North West for The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, with golfers from the United States, Italy, Denmark and Finland are among groups pre-booking rounds at the club’s heathland course.
Located with easy access to the M6 motorway and within one hour of Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds, and set against a striking heathland backdrop, the course presents a rewarding challenge, complemented by panoramic views stretching across the Pennines, Lakes and Fylde Coast.
